Frequently asked questions

Answered plainly.

The things people ask most, before they start.

  • How does ordering work?
Open the shop and add what you want to the cart. Medical foods and other items that need no prescription ship when you order them. A prescription product starts with an online visit with an independent licensed clinical provider, and its page says so before you pay.
  • Do I need an appointment?
No. A prescription product starts with an online visit with an independent licensed clinical provider. If they need more, or your state requires a live visit for a particular medication, that is arranged before anything is prescribed.
  • What if the physician says no?
Then it isn't prescribed. A prescription product is prescribed only if the independent provider decides it is appropriate for you, and nothing is shipped unless it is.
  • Is everything here prescription-only?
No. The shop carries prescription treatments, which start with an online visit, and medical foods and other items that need no prescription and ship when you order them. Where a treatment is prescribed off-label, its page says so.
  • Why are prices shown as “from”?
Some prescription treatments are sold as plans, and a treatment often costs less on a longer plan. The figure shown is the entry price, and the treatment's page shows its plans before you pay.
  • Will this replace what my doctor already has me on?
No. Tell the prescriber everything you currently take — checking for interactions is part of what their review is for. Keep taking what you've been prescribed unless your own doctor says otherwise.
  • Does AMA see my medical information?
No. The online visit for a prescription product is with the independent provider, and your answers stay with them. AMA does not see them.
